Facelift

Facelift Beverly Hills

Facelifts are one of the most common plastic surgery procedures that are performed in the United States. Facelifts have predominately been done on women who want their youthful looks back. Facelifts reduce the inevitable signs of aging we all face one day by tightening the skin and deeper tissues. In recent year’s even male celebrities such as Sylvester Stallone, Gene Simmons have undergone facelifts.

Facelifts don’t change the appearance or structure of someone’s face. Facelifts are only used to firm up the skin around the face, neck to give the skin the look of that youthful appearance again. The patient undergoing the facelift must have realistic expectations for the results as facelifts are only meant to make the skin firm and straighter removing sagging skin.

As with any other types of cosmetic procedure the patient must be in good health before undergoing plastic surgery nor the patient would want to deal with any unnecessary complications after the surgery, all your health concerns should be discussed with the plastic surgeon ahead of time.

Facelifts do require the patient to put under anesthesia and the operating room the surgeon will perform this in is clean and sterilized environment.

Once the areas to perform the facelift on are targeted, the plastic surgeon marks the areas with a surgical marker and places small incisions on the exact areas that have been targeted by the patient and plastic surgeon for improvement.

Once the incision is made the lose skin is raised and the tissues underneath are tightened. At this point excessive or saggy skin is also removed and tightened. Once this has occurred the plastic surgeon will close the incision with stitches.

Often a one night stay in the hospital is required after the plastic surgery so doctors can access the patient to make sure there are no issues before they are sent home.

The recover process can take several weeks before the patient is ready to resume normal activities.
